May Update

  • September 10, 2021

After the lull of the start of the season and finally getting going in April, May looked on paper like a whirlwind of activity!

Regular appointments with lily Jackson Physio for the horses, SJ lessons with Ros and regular fitness training for myself are a staple each month so its great to have the focus of competitions.

A great few days at Cirencester Park, Bathurst Estate with some good results. KEC Deakon owned by Heidi Bates had another steady run in the OI and a smart test of 30.9

Nina Van Overis Z was feeling rather well however, I was always going to save her for another day and not run her XC. Jem Rose and Lucinda Mesquita Eventing also had a steady double clear in the OI. Comte Du Bretton owned by Lara Read had another FANTASTIC run in his second novice finishing on his dressage score of 24.5 to take 3rd place

Tomatillo owned by MW and Finn Guiness stepped upto novice today and took everything in his stride and finished on a great dressage of 28.8 to take 4th place.

Jandine and Lucinda Mesquita took 5th place in the novice section finishing on her dressage of 28.8. Amber Fletcher Eventing stepped up to intermediate today with True Courage, rolling one pole SJ followed by a bold XC round – he looked fantastic

We then moved on to a busy couple of days at Tweseldown International

Heidi Bates KEC Deakon was the star of the day leading from start to finish in the CCI3*S, extremely looking forward to stepping up to 4* next month.

Nina Van Overis Z had a lovely steady double clear in preparation for Houghton 4* next week. Friendship VDL had his first run of 2021 and was definitely pleased to be back out. A few preparations runs before Bicton 4*. Jem Rose and Lucinda Mesquita Eventing finished in 3rd place in the CCI3*, just behind her stable mate KEC Deakon.

Jandine had her first international run with Lucinda Mesquita in the CCI2*S. A lovely double clear to get her qualifications for Houghton next week. Amber Fletcher Eventing who is based with us this season had her second intermediate run and stormed around a tough XC making it look extremely easy.

DAY Two Tomatillo also finished on his dressage mark and took first place in the novice section. This little horse gets better and better each time.

Comte Du Bretton had an education run around a big novice track, next stop Pontispool in a few weeks time. Quintero had a smart test and clear SJ however as planned we wanted to save him for another day. Thank you to my owners, staff and sponsor for making this all possible.

Tweseldown was followed by a great week at Saracen Horse Feeds Houghton International Horse Trials

RLE Nina van Overis Z had a fantastic run in the CCI4*S. A much more relaxed test followed by an unlucky pole in the jumping however gave me a mega ride XC.

KEC Deakon had a steady run in the CCI3*L to gain his qualifications which he did and jumped a foot perfect double clear

Lucinda Mesquita Eventing and 7 year old Jandine finished on their dressage mark of 32.8 in the CCI2*S. A quick turn around and off to Pontispool Equine Sports Centre after with two novice horses. Comte de Bretton was on fire and finished 5th in the novice

Quintero also had a smart test and a great run XC
