June Update

  • September 10, 2021

Sometimes its not the buzz of a 5* that confirms why you do this. Our horses are our life and when they give you everything for their career its of upmost importance to do right by them in their twilight years. No horse deserves this more than Leo.

Leonardo is absolutely loving his new home with Julia. Julia has been a friend of AM Eventing for many, many years and we could think of no one better to take the reins for Leo. Their first ODE and he couldn’t have been any happier with him giving Julia the most amazing time! This little horse has given me so much joy over the years and I’m so pleased he’s doing the same for Julia – you would never think he was 18 years young!

June kicked off with Nunney International.

Quintero had another good run in the novice section on Friday, this horse is getting better with every outing he goes to. Excited about the rest of the season for him.

Count Onxy stepped up to Novice and didn’t let me down finishing in 3rd place on his dressage of 31.3

Tomatillo had another cracking double clear in the novice section, this horse gives me a fantastic ride and I’m so looking forward to moving him up the grades this season.

Count Onyx

We took some time out to move the youngsters in June. Our young recruits have been turned away for their summer break – we have a great herd of young and exciting horses for the 2022 season so keep your eyes peeled for the newbies!

A lovely local (ish!) event Launceston saw us head further south. The star of the day goes to Comte de Bretton owned by Lara Read who won the novice section, finishing on his mega dressage of 24! This lovely horse is looking for a new home and will make a fantastic junior or young rider horse and will be aimed at Blenheim 8and 9 yr olds if not sold, horses like this don’t come along very often.

Tomotillo had another great run in the novice finishing on his dressage of 31.5 to take 5th place – read more about Tomatillo here https://www.horseandhound.co.uk/news/tamarillos-clone-takes-his-first-eventing-win-connections-feel-he-has-five-star-potential-746914

Count Onxy had his second novice run, sadly a unlucky pole sj putting him just outside the top ten. This horse is really coming into his own

Quintero is being produced slowly as he is such a big horse, however I seriously rate this horse and he has a very bright future ahead of him.

Comte Du Bretton

With the highs of seeing Leo move onto a great home, Lucinda also made a decision that was by far the hardest decision she has ever had to make, selling Jandine. She has owned Jandine, aka Piggy since a 4 year old and she hasn’t put a foot wrong the whole time she has had her – she has been a absolute dream to produce and ride over the years, and she really couldn’t have ever asked more of this wonderful horse. She always gave her 110% and learnt her job ridiculously quickly. We wish Clemmie all the success on her – we know she will have SO much fun, we are all rooting for you both. Pig go and do us proud!
