February ’21 – Getting focussed
We love to give our horses a good let down over winter – that said they don’t get completely let down, but plenty of hacking, field time, deep straw beds, grooming and chill time.
Once we are out of the Christmas festivities our thoughts turn to preparation of the season ahead…after 2020 we are slightly weary of how 2021 will play out but our prep for the horses must be strong and focussed. After a few months of quiet hacking and school work we start to head out to our local gallops at William Fox-Pitt’s beautiful yard, the horses enjoy the change of scenery and the facilities are some of the best available.
All of our outings are conducted in accordance with CV19 rules and regulations and as an elite riders we are able to undergo some training aspects.
All the horses have pre-season health checks, with routine dental and farrier visits, as well as physiotherapy and any additional requirements such as water treadmills etc.
So we fire out of February fit, healthy and keen to start!!
Onwards to March and fingers crossed for an early green light!
