All the horses that have had a holiday are coming back into work, and many that have gone back to owners over the winter are returning, many not resembling the smart, fit eventers that left, but hairy wobbly beasts! It makes all the hard work worth while and it’s been nice to have the ongoing support of the owners as I know this is an expensive sport. Hopefully one day it’ll all pay off and I hope that they are as pleased as I am.
Next season is set to be even more exciting with new owners, horses and sponsors coming on board. Having been in this sport for nearly a decade I am all too aware of the long road it takes to get to the top but I get more and more determined to get there each year and whilst 2012 is our of reach, 2016 is the light at the end of the tunnel.
All the hours on the road, spent in the saddle and in front of the laptop could not be achieved without the help and support of a massive team of people who sometimes never get near the limelight. My mum has supported me from the beginning and to this day remains my most loyal supporter – for which I can’t thank her enough. Some of my owners have stayed loyal through some tough times with their horses which means the world to me and I hope that I have repaid them with some good results.
I’ve built up a loyal base of clients for teaching, across the levels and disciplines and have found this to be both rewarding and encouraging. There is nothing more satisfying than teaching someone who wants to learn and develop and I’m looking forward to seeing them out and about over the winter.

Something that I want to develop more on is clinics for riders over the winter, so keep your eyes peeled on the websiteand my Facebook page Aaron Millar Eventing for dates and venues over December, January and February aiming towards the start of the 2012 season.

First and hopefully last broken bone of the season!

http://www.aaronmillar.co.uk/1/post/2011/07/first-and-hopefully-last-broken-bone-of-the-season.html

http://www.aaronmillar.co.uk/1/post/2011/07/first-and-hopefully-last-broken-bone-of-the-season.html#comments

Uncategorized

 [...]

Gggrrrr bloody horses!
So my last update was after Tatts where Ellie and Captian produced fab results, as always what goes up must come down! Moreton produced more good results for Dantino and Wizard with a 6th and 4th respectively. Salperton was a mixed bag with four horses running and a quick turn around for two to run at Stonar with a rapid lead up to Barbary where I had two running in the 2*. Jack held his own to come 16th in a tough section, there is still alot more to come from this horse and I am looking forward to posting some good results with him in the latter part of the season. Maraca was on great form having produced a nice test and a clear sj round, leaving us in a stong position for a good placing. But as always don't count your chickens too soon as three fences from home on the XC she tripped and catapulted me into the fence...face first! Cue stitches and a cracked cheek bone and worst of all getting signed off competiting so we missed Aston and Stockland Lovell! I'm glad to report that Mac is ok, I think my face came off worst.
Mark Todd was kind enough to take two of my rides at Stockland Lovell as you can see by the picture above.
I'm now fighting fit again and have started jumping the horses myself, Alex has been fab whilst I have been out of action, keeping all the horses ticking over nicely.
Onwards and upwards
